Does FlowCushion cure or treat any disease?

FlowCushion uses an advanced air pressure technology to help ease pressure points on your bottom as you sit for several hours. Such discomfort may result from sitting too long in the same place or having poor posture, and using the cushion may aid in relief from discomfort brought on from prolonged sitting. FlowCushion uses similar technology adopted by hospitals in alternating air pressure mattresses.

However, FlowCushion does not cure or in any way treat or cure diseases or maladies such as deep vein thrombosis, bed sores, arthritis, osteoporosis, back problems, etc. To state that it does requires clinical studies designed and conducted to verify results versus no results. We have not performed such studies. FlowCushion is designed and sold as a comfort product for people who spend long hours sitting at work or in a car.

Do not rely on FlowCushion or in any way assume that it will treat or cure any disease you may have or are worried you may get. It is always advised to contact a health professional if you have any health concerns related to DVT or arthritis.

Is FlowCushion covered by Medicare and Medicaid?

Although we believe that FlowCushion meets the criteria for Medicare HCPCS billing code EO180, we do not get involved in any such Part B billing to this or other agencies. Please speak to your Medicare or Medicaid representative for more information.

How long has FlowCushion been on the market?

The Computer Controlled Pressure System used in FlowCushion has been in used in similar products since 1990. There are several versions ranging from alternating pressure beds to sophisticated, custom-made systems for use with paraplegics and quadriplegics. These systems have been used in some of the top medical institutions in the United States for years.

FlowCushion has been on the market since the Spring of 2006, and was removed temporarily for improvements in order to conform to recent FAA regulations, so people could use FlowCushion for air travel.

Will there be a battery-operated version of FlowCushion available?

Yes, the battery-operated version of FlowCushion will be able in April, 2007. This FlowCushion will be made for use in airplanes and outdoors, and may be recharged for later use. This FlowCushion also will conform to current FAA regulations so you should have no trouble taking it aboard planes.

How do I clean the FlowCushion?

We recommend using a damp, soapy sponge or washcloth to gently clean the seat pad, then let air dry. DO NOT put FlowCushion in the washing machine or dishwater, and DO NOT submerge the FlowCushion in water.

Is FlowCushion Recommended for Paraplegics and Quadraplegics?

We strongly do not recommend FlowCushion for these two conditions. Our modestly-priced product does not have the heavier construction, batteries, and special alerts required in the case where lack of sensation in the lower body makes it difficult to know if the FlowCushion is operating.

We are therefore concerned that customers may rely on the product, then develop a bedsore or other problem if it has not been working. There are alternate products on the market that address these concerns.

Will you ship internationally?
